ROKAE Robotics and Schaeffler, the motion technology company, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly develop integrated joint modules for humanoid robots. The partnership covers co-development of core components, component supply, and industrial deployment, combining Schaeffler's precision manufacturing expertise with ROKAE's full-stack robotics technology platform.

Complementary Strengths, Shared Goal
Schaeffler brings decades of experience in precision transmission, bearings, torque sensors, and harmonic drives, backed by world-class volume manufacturing capability. ROKAE contributes over a decade of intelligent robotics development across industrial, collaborative, and embodied intelligence segments, with products deployed across more than 40 countries and over 1,000 customers globally.
Under the agreement, the two companies will co-develop a next-generation integrated joint module for humanoid robots — combining ROKAE's robotics software and system integration expertise with Schaeffler's customized high-performance torque sensors and harmonic drives. Joint commissioning and optimization will be conducted throughout the development process to ensure performance, cost competitiveness, and supply chain stability.

A Closed-Loop Ecosystem
The partnership extends beyond component development. Schaeffler will serve as a core supplier for ROKAE's embodied intelligence joint modules, while ROKAE will participate in automation upgrades across Schaeffler's global smart manufacturing facilities — creating a closed loop spanning R&D, supply, and deployment.
Dr. Yilin Zhang, CEO of Schaeffler China, said: "As a motion technology company, Schaeffler aims to play a significant role in humanoid robotics as an emerging growth area. This partnership with ROKAE Robotics will help integrate China's local innovation resources and leverage our combined technology and cost advantages to move quickly in this market. Together, we look forward to accelerating the commercialization and scaling of humanoid robots."
Tuo Hua, CEO of ROKAE Robotics, said: "Industrializing embodied intelligence requires deep collaboration across the supply chain. Schaeffler's precision manufacturing heritage and ROKAE's full-stack robotics capabilities are highly complementary. This partnership creates the foundation for an open, resilient global humanoid robotics ecosystem — one where robotics and AI can genuinely serve industries at scale."
